In the video Edith Windsor talks about the DOMA ruling. This artifact was created because Windsor was discussing the out come of her case verses the United States. Which has been a huge advancement in the gay rights movement the creator’s purpose for making this artifact was to deliver breaking news on how Windsor felt about the ruling of her case.
This video gives me first hand “primary source” information from the main party in my conflict who is Edith Windsor. What I’ve learned about the time, place, or circumstances in which this artifact was created is that Windsor was an older female in her 80’s, which is something that a lot of the text doesn’t say. Therefore putting a new light to understanding my conflict that an 80 something year old female brought suit to the United States because she believed that the laws in place were unconditional do to her fifth amendment rights of equal protection.
